Orthodontic department of CDC is enriched by a renowned professor, living legend of dentistry named Professor Dr. Md. Emadul Haq, an Asst. professor and three lecturers.

Our Professor Dr. Md. Emadul Huq possess D Orth RCS from UK, Fellowship of WFO from USA, FICD from USA and FCPS Hon. from Bangladesh. He is the founder president of Bangladesh Orthodontic Society. He is the author of an Orthodontic text book “Essentials of Orthodontics for Dental Students” (Recognized as a text book by Dhaka University BDS syllabus). He has to his credit teaching and clinical experiences of over 48 years.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Md. Rakibul Islam Babu has achieved FCPS from Bangladesh and Fellowship of WFO from USA. He is also the EC member of Bangladesh Orthodontic Society.

One of the lecturer named Dr. Md. Nayem Hossain Khan has been studying MPH in NIPSOM Another lecturer named Dr. Mst. Shammi Jesmin Ara has achieved post graduation training in BSMMU and BIRDEM.

Dr. Md. Rezwanur Rahaman is EC member of Bangladeshi Academy of Dentistry International. OPD of Orthodontic department is furnished with modern dental unit and other associated equipments.

 

The highly expert teaching stuff are devoted to teaching their students by using latest multimedia and other teaching aids. Scientific seminars are organized on regular basis. Lectures, tutorials, chapter wise item, card and term exams are taken on scheduled times as per BDS syllabus of Dhaka University.

Pediatric dentistry is taught in the 4th year of BDS course. 

This subject deals with the diseases and developmental deformities of the orofacial region of children. The first part of this course describes the principles of pediatric oral health management with special emphasis on growth and development. Theory and clinical training will be focused on the management of child behavior, rampant caries including fillings and temporary/metallic crowns and application of pit and fissure sealants.

The second part describes the various oral pathological lesions, principles of oral health management and prevention of unhealthy oral habits in pediatric patients. Clinical training will provide the basic operative, non surgical and surgical skills required for the management of different pathologies in pediatric patients.

  4. Working Time: 8.00 am. to 2.30 pm & 5.00 pm – 9.00 pm (except Friday and Holidays)
  5. Treatment facilities: All the modern facilities of dental treatment are available at very reasonable charge.
  6. Pathological test: Available
  7. Total of daily Patients: 300 average
  • Dental Surgeon: Teaching Staff of the departments of Period ontology & Oral Pathology, Conservative Dentistry, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Prosthetics and Children Preventive & Community Dentistry carry out duties in the Student’s O.P.D and are constantly guiding the students as to how to deal with the patients, how to treat them etc.
  • Dental Units: 11 (Eleven) full Dental Units with central supply of compressed air and central vacuum with modern instruments.
  • Dental Laboratory: 2 (Two) Dental Laboratory
  • Dental X-ray: Facilities available
  • Working Time: 8.00 A.M. to 2.30 P.M except Friday and Holidays.
  • Treatment: Modern Facilities are available for the benefit of students. Poor patients are treated at a normal charge.
  • Pathological test: Available
  • Total Nos. of Daily Patients: 500 average
